Kickstart! [Jan. 21st, 2005|11:52 am]

Greetings all,

romad and me were discussing how to setup an IIMK alumni-student blog that is really active, and able to keep all community members informed about each other. The idea is that since we (PGP 2005) will soon be out of here, building the network and list of contacts should begin at the earliest.

One of the major problems will be handling multiple blogging service providers- some people are on Blogger, some on LJ, others on rediffblogs and so on. Any ideas on how we can bring them all together?

Meanwhile, this community is finally growing, so I'm hoping (once again) that it will finally show some signs of life!

Try and get everyone from K on your friends list to sign up here...

Gaurav .. we have to resurrect this idea and make it happen!
Shall we start a new blog somehwere - blogspot/LJ - which can have a few "editors" who will keep updating the blog with various alumni/campus news?
You're more familiar with the design/usability features of these sites - so recommend the best one and we can go ahead - ideally we should be able to put links to the IIMK site, etc on the front page of this blog site.

Others - any ideas guys?

Certainly, we can have links and pictures, etc on this site, no problem at all. Blogspot is also an option, especially if we can convince someone with HTML skills to come on board the project. I guess we should start acting as editors, make it something of a rolling post -- a year at a time, say. We'll need to get in touch with alumni and formalize a system for news to get channeled to this page. Perhaps set up an email id that receive mails from alumni who have news/wish to be featured.

I think I'll mail iimkalumni and tell them about it, after discussing it with you in an email.
